Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20191129

It is the second AX1500 router that I bought (I returned the first), and I still having the same issue. When I connect the ethernet cable to the WAN port, the router says it is disconnected. However, if I plug the same ethernet cable on the old router I have here, it immediately works just fine. I live in a condo and there is an ethernet jack on the wall which I use to plug in the old router. I also bought a new ethernet cable cat6 to try it out with the AX1500, and still not working.
If I plug the router to the ethernet port on my laptop, an orange light comes up on the router. Also, if I plug the AX1500 on my old router, AX1500 gets an external IP and works just fine.

What is the problem then?

@puluceno

If the internet port is amber then it sees a connection so it is not bad. You likely need to look at more settings to get it working mainly first determining if you get a WAN IP or not and go from there.

This will help once you find that out: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1556/
