@CJTG You will only see the LED for Ethernet in a PowerLine device that has device connected to one of the LAN ports on the device.  In order to confirm whether Ethernet is working, connect your router to a PowerLine device with a CAT5e cable, then connect a computer via CAT5e cable to another PowerLine device.  If the devices are paired, the computer should be able to get an IP address via DHCP from your router (assuming you have DHCP enabled on the router) and be able to ping the router by its IP address.

Have you tried this?

@dunxd You mentioned DHCP being enabled. What is that? I am not getting an IP address when connected.

@CJTG if you connect your PC directly to your router using a LAN cable, do you get an IP address?

DHCP is a system for assigning IP address automatically, and is typically enabled on a home router.  If you get an IP address and can access the web from a PC directly connected to your router, then probably DHCP is enabled.

If you can access when connected via the PowerLine device, perhaps they didn't pair correctly.

@CJTG

If you are not seeing the Ethernet LED light turn on when connecting the cable I would swap the Ethernet cable.

If the powerline devices are plugged and paired you should have two LED lights, a third will turn on with a connected Ethernet cable going to a device (router or computer or TV etc.).

If the adapter near your router has three lights, but the second adapter only has two, swap the powerline adapters. If the problem powerline Ethernet LED still does not turn on even being wired to the router then it may have an issue with the port.
