RE450 connects but no Internet
RE450 connects but no Internet
I did setup numerous times and it completes sucessfully. All lights are blue on the extender. I can access 2.4ghz and 5 ghz and connect with my phone, but there is no internet.
On the status screen, the graphic showing the Client/RE450/Router/Internet all are good except the Internet shows an exclamation mark.
In the wired section of the status screen shows DHCP Server Auto, ip address 192.168.0.254 which matches in the router. Type: Dynamic IP (failed)
I have a TP-Link Touch P5 Router and can not find any settings related to using the extender.
Any ideas?

Please test the following on the router temporarily.
Factory default the extender, then on the router end, disable the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless encryption so there is no password, set up the extender with the router, and see if the extender connects and you get internet on both wireless bands. If that works, go back and enable the wireless security again.
If you still get the same issue even with open networks, the extender may be malfunctioned.

I installed by logging into the extender by using the browser on my laptop. I also reset the device and installed again with the Tether app on my phone. Still the same issues.
Today I can get the Internet using the 5G connection, but 2.4G doesn't connect to the Internet. I tried multiple devices too.
The extender is acting odd. Sometime it uses an IP address of 192.168.0.183 and other times 192.168.0.254. I'm going to try to look the IP address in the router and see if it stabilizes.
Ok, I added a fixed IP address in the router for 192.168.0.183 on the extender, but still not connecting to Internet. When I look at the IP address on the 2.4G connection it lists 169.254.253.43, subnet mask is 255.255.0.0, router is blank, which isn't anywhere near my network numbers. However, when I change to the 5G connection, everything works and the IP address is 192.168.0.100 which is normal for my phone. The router sees the extender for 2.4G and it shows it being connected for the 2.4G MAC ID number.
See my attachment for the router status page.

Ok, I changed the router's wireless 2.4 and 5Ghz to no security. I then reset the extender and set it up using Tether on the phone. Yes, it now works with both 2.5 and 5Ghz. I changed the router wireless back to security and had to reconnect the extender networks. After that everything now works.
Thanks for your help!

In your router try changing the wireless mode to Auto(WPA/WPA2-PSK), and make sure the encryption type is set to TKIP/AES.
If that does not work you can log into the extender and try the following setup to see if that may help:

Im having the same issue but I am having trouble turning off security and encryption on router. It makes me set a password and there is no option for no security under the drop down menu it just has WPA2 and WPA mix.

Today I have received new RE450 and also I can not connect to the internet. I have tryed from factory settings and still, I can get to the internet. I'm very disappointed. All advertising of the product does not transform into reality. Also, I'm not expert in IT system settings, I thought that with this product you do not need to be. Is there any other solution to the tray before I send this product back.

@MTN_Ranger For anybody still having this problem, I had this problem. Graphic would say connected but no internet. On the WiFi list it said connected but no internet. But when I connected my phone just to try it, it connected with internet and from there on out, everything was fine.

@MTN_Ranger Hi guys!
I tried every single suggestions that you've made but without success.
My connection still dropping constantly.
Signal still weak even setting same parameters from the router inside the extender.
I have less than 2 meters from the router to the extender and also less then 3 from my pc or printer that are on different rooms.
