Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20190809 Rel. 28188(5553)

Hello I recently bought a ax1500 from walmart.

The 5ghz speeds are really good constant 230mbps. But the 2.4ghz arely goes up to 60-80mbps speeds and specially on iphone its a lot slower. No where near the limits it should be at. I just noticed there is hardware versions and mine is v1. Guess i bought a left over product. Is there any difference between hardware versions. Is there a way to fix this issue?

60-80 Mbit/s is a good practical performance result for 2,4GHz.

Those numbers have very little to do with which data rate any single client on the network will be able to recieve or send with. Wireless signaling works very differently from cables.

@drewex

The term 300 Mbps is derived from applicable specifications and refers to the theoretical maximum raw data transfer rate. This term is used on this product solely to indicate its compatibility with other wireless devices.  Actual data speeds vary and are limited by network conditions such as data traffic, overlapping wireless channels, and wireless obstructions.

An exception would be if you are in the same room of the router and have single digit speeds which means something would be wrong.

I am also receiving very slow 2.4 speeds on the ax1500. Ranging from 4 Mbps to 8 Mbps. However, using 5ghz i am getting speeds in the 400+ Mbps. I just purchased a second ax1500 to test and the new one is having the exact same problem. Why might this be?

I tried different channels and channel widths with so real difference. My Tx Rate is 145 Mbps on the 2.4ghz and 780 Mbps on the 5ghz.

Is only one wireless device being used? What is the type and model of it and distance from the router?

@Tony My Samsung Galaxy S9, 4 feet in front of the router.

@WifiGuy25

If the 5GHz gives you good speed, then the modem, cable, and WAN checks out. If the 2.4Ghz is consistantly slow there may be something interferring with the signal that is not with the 5GHz.

I have a AX10 (same as AX1500) with a 30 Mbps connection. The 2.4GHz result I get is around mid 20s, distance is not as great compared to my C2700 2.4Ghz, but in the same room is definately not right.

Might be best to contact support since modifying channels were tried.

One other last thing I can think of is to upload the same firmware on the router. Someone had speed issues with the C5400x, and re-uploaded the latest firmware which it already had and seemed to resolve it.

@Tony ,

I am pretty sure its the hardware or firmware to blame. I have the exact same issue.

I have tried everything ever mentioned in tp link website to try to fix this but it wont work.

I have a 100 mbps connection and all is fine on 5ghz but i just get 10 mbps on 2.4 ghz standing next to the router. I also have a netgear extender as an access point and for the same connection it gives 60-70mbps standing next to it. This is a huge difference. I even put both the extender and ax1500 on the same channel but no success.

You have a tplink badge next to your avatar looks like you are work for tplink ? If yes please tell your engg dept to fix this with a firmware release or something or this is my last tp link product.
