Hello!

I know Google fiber requires VLAN tagging but you also called it Google Fiber Mesh so are you using the google Mesh wifi routers as well?

@Carl hi! It's not a google WiFi mesh it's a Deco M4 mesh. I have google fiber as a service provider. :) I've been trying to figure out how to create a VLAN but I'm having no luck :(

Okay just needed to confrim that was not a prevailing issue in the network.  Here is an FAQ that should help.

No the screen shown is what the screen looks like after the Deco has been configured.  The screen you provided is the default screen when the deco has not been configured.  We recommend going through the complete process and then using the FAQ.

@Carl I'm having the same problem adding my new M4. I have google fiber with their network box. I've tried plugging the M4 unit into the ethernet port on their network box, and directly into the fiber jack on the wall.  In neither case can I get the light on the M4 to even come on, let alone progress to yellow or blue.   I can't even start the configuration process to get to the VLAN settings.

If you just connect the M4 to power does the light come on at all?  If so connect that first, let it power up and then connect the other cables and see what happens.

@Carl I switched out the power cord with one of the other M4 units and it powered up and connected perfectly.  I then used the first power cord with the 2nd M4 unit and it worked fine too.  Not sure why the first power cord wouldn't work with the 1st M4 unit.

My whole M4 system (3 units) seems to now be working fine.  The main unit is just plugged into 1 of the ethernet ports on the back of the Fiber Network Box.  I didn't have to mess with any of the VLAN settings.  All I did was use the Google Fiber app to turn off the Wifi from the Network box so that there's only 1 Wifi network to choose from.

Okay,  So it sounds like the Google Fiber box is also a gateway device.  If this is the case and you start to have network issues you might want to consider putting the Deco M4 system in AP mode.  Doing this will eliminate what's called Double NAT.  You shouldn't have to but if you do its something to try.
