No opportunity to set Router Pass Key
I first tried the web setup and it seemed to work until it failed to connect at the end. Everything looked correct in the settings except the router pass key was truncated in the display. I don't know if that was a limitation of the display or a limitation of the extender.
After that I tried the tether app and it never gave an opportunity to set the router pass key. The range extender was always connected with no internet connection.
Apparently my router has WPS disabled.
It seems there used to be a way to set these up using a temporary ethernet connection. Is that still possible?
I'm about to take a sledge hammer to this thing.
