Ax11000 dropping 2.4ghz every other day
Every other day 2.4 wireless drops until the router is restarted. Everything connects back fine after reboot. 5ghz has no issues. Using latest firmware. Any ideas?
Using smart connect I cannot specify a channel. I really dont want to turn that off and have 3 ssid's.

Just to make sure I'm clear: I did everything described in my prior message at the same time... I did not wait to see whether the beta firmware solved my problems before setting up the three networks.
I just wanted to quickly get to a setup that works, rather than tinkering with it anymore to find the optimal set up.

Further to my previous post, I'm seeing a similar problem to a couple other people, the 5G channels are completely gone from the router UI. They're not disabled, they're just missing entirely. The weird thing is I can see both channels when I check my phone's wifi, but I can't actually connect to them.
This is just getting silly. I hate to pull out the old chestnut, but I think it's time to return this router and buy a different brand :(

I managed to solve all my issues, I switched to a Netgear Nighthawk, sending the TP AX11000 back :(

@Tony - do we have an ETA on the official firmware release? Last release for this router was five months ago, and it looks likes we still have a lot of bugs. I think the community here would like to see more support for the flagship router for tp-link.

@shaywood @Jerryb I too have a ton of devices on my home network and am so glad someone posted the beta links. I have over 45 2.4Ghz devices as I use a ton of smarthome devices. With anywhere from 45 to 55 connected at a time. Changed some settings with support which seemed to help but now I can see if this beta firmware fixes the issue. If it does will be nice to try out once released an official 1.0.7 FW. Hopefully then we can all set whatever we want and it will not drop.

@samadril I'm interested in whether this resolves your issue, we have a new AX11000 that's been having similar stability issues (sometimes 2.4 won't accept new clients, sometimes it disappears completely) on 2.4 despite setting up a nightly reboot. I did find another thread that suggested a different issue, with similar symptoms. See https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1393/. I had been experimenting with both a USB-A 3.0 drive as well as a USB-C 3.0 drive to use the NAS capabilities of the router, and I'm disconnecting them for a trial period, to see if stability returns.
I'll be bummed if this is the issue, as that feature was proving rather useful. I read that a longer/better shielded cable might resolve the issue. Maybe I can make a small faraday cage for it:-)

This beta firmware seems to have solved all the issues I was having. The only negative is that it's still a beta that you need to ask for specifically. It's literally months old (I think the firmware is dated March 2020) so I don't see why it hasn't been pushed to production to help resolve people's problems.

@Skrybe Agreed. Seems odd. I asked them about whether I should update the firmware at some point. They said it would update, or notify me, if needed. I don't think there have been any updates since.
