Ax11000 dropping 2.4ghz every other day
Every other day 2.4 wireless drops until the router is restarted. Everything connects back fine after reboot. 5ghz has no issues. Using latest firmware. Any ideas?
Using smart connect I cannot specify a channel. I really dont want to turn that off and have 3 ssid's.

@tarund I think that's the same beta version they provided me for the same problem 1 month ago. Haven't lost a single 2.4 device since then

@tarund thank you for sharing!!
quick question. Do you know if when applying this firmware, did your existing DHCP settings and other information get overwritten and did you have to start over from scratch or did it maintain everything?

I just did it a few minutes ago, it kept all of my settings. It's always wise to do a backup before you upgrade firmware just in case. You can find it under system -->Backup & restore.

@Jerryb Hope this helps folks. I did the firmware update a month ago and it's improved 95%. Occassionally I'll have a 2.4 device that needs unplugged/plugged in to connect. Don't think it's the router. I have 50+ 2.4 devices.

thanks, gonna give it a try at my next "catastrophe"
at the moment, i moved my router to a slightly different location and also changed channels due to potential conflicts... we'll see how long it lasts
id prefer not to be on a beta firmware, but if this happens again, ill definitely be moving over to it
i wonder if anyone knows what it is they exactly changed?

I'm having the same issue. Firmware 1.0.5.
I only have a few 2.4GHZ devices but it's still been a mess. So far I've disabled everything that I purchased this router for... stripping it down to just a 2.4GHZ network and a 5GHZ network, which is something my old 802.11AC router could do. If the old router hadn't failed I'd switch back to it.
What a disappointment, for an expensive top of the line device.
Unfortunately my AX11000 router is outside the return period at this point so unless a stable firmware that resolves this issue is released soon I'm thinking about writing off TP-Link as a manufacturer that can't be trusted and buying something else. I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it for anything close to what I paid.. It would be dishonest to represent this as a quality product with the current firmware.
