Amazon Devices disconnect when RE 650 is in service

When the range extender (RE 650) is in service my Amazon Fire TV boxes connect but will not stay connected as well as the Kindle E-Readers. When the range extender is in service it kills the wifi signal to my Kindle E readers. My Apple devices (iphone, ipad) do not have this problem and stay connected. My wireless gateway is a Comcast Arris TG1682G. Help Please
