ISP :

ArcherC5400 v2.0
Firmware version: 1.2.0 Build 20170630 rel.49653(5553)

When I power off the router (by pushing the button or disconnecting power completely) about 1/4th of the time it boots up with default settings. Sometimes it loses the admin password as well. I luckily make backups after every change so I simply restore from backup. What is causing this?

My router had similar problem before, so I contacted support and they gave me a firmware. Maybe you can try it as well:

If it helps I’ve been running the 170801 beta for around a month due to the power off issue and losing settings. Tonight, I very reluctantly needed to power off and power on again. Backups in hand, I did the deed. To my surprise, it was fine. After a power cycle it retained the settings using the beta.
