Customizing the Map and Cleaning Ability of Your Robot Vacuum

 

Creating an Accurate and Thorough Vacuum Map is the first step to making sure that your Robot Vacuum is performing to the best of its ability.

 

Understanding Locked vs. Unlocked Maps

After your vacuum has mapped your home, you will be given the option to “Lock” your map. This is important to prevent unintentional changes to your map.

Before locking your map, we recommend completing a whole-home clean to ensure that your vacuum has been able to map your entire home and is as accurate as can be.
 

Using Virtual Walls and No-Go Zones
You can use Virtual Walls and No-Go Zones to prevent your vacuum from entering or cleaning areas you do not want.

• • Marking Virtual Walls*
    • Virtual Walls Will Only Prevent the Robot Vacuum from Crossing the Threshold
    • Useful for Blocking Off Entrances, or Guiding the Robot Through a Specific Door
  • Establishing No-Go Zones*
    • No-Go Zones Go a Step Further and Prevent the Vacuum from Entering the Zone
    • Useful for Blocking from High-Pile Rugs, Wire-Messes, or Difficult to Navigate Zones
      ​​​​​*Limit of 10 No-Go Zones and 10 Virtual Walls Per Map
       

Carpet Detection and Cleaning Level Customization  

Carpets, Rugs, and Whole-Room Carpets can be added to your map., allowing you to choose how a carpet or rug should be cleaned. (Do Not Clean, Vacuum Only, Mopping)

Additional settings are available when mopping to help your vacuum avoid problematic carpets; however, we recommend watching and ensuring your settings are not difficult to use. 

Carpet Boost: This applies to All Carpeted Areas. When enabled, it Automatically Increases the Suction Power by One Level During Carpet Cleaning for a More Thorough Cleaning.

Note: The suction power will not increase further if already at the maximum level 
 

Cleaning Direction

Choosing the Cleaning Direction for Your Vacuum allows you to choose either the Fastest Path or a path that will help clean the grooves between your hardwood floors.

If a cleaning direction is chosen for a room, ALL Passes of the Room will be Done in that Direction. In its default mode, the vacuum will clean one direction on the first pass and then change directions for the second.
 

Multiple Maps and Map Backups

The Map Backup feature is intended to provide a cloud-based backup of your map in case something happens, such as forgetting to lock the map or for testing various room configurations. Map Backups are Unit-Specific. You cannot use a backed-up map with another robot vacuum.
