Archer C9, TP-Link AC1900 HTTPS administration ?
Model : Archer C9
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I am researching wifi routers for a very small business that has privacy and security concerns. They cannot afford much in terms of security appliances, so I have simply recommended they buy a Archer C9 setup as an AP only device and connect it through a a security gateway/router I will build myself (linux)
One question that I have about this model Archer C9, AC1900 is the administrative console logon security method...it is unclear reading the documentation if this router can achieve a true https administrative console logon.
Does it allow me to establish https when I want to log into the administrative console?
Separately, I am open to any suggestions from any other product from TP link that might be more appropriate for heightened security.
This small business is very small, not very capitalized, but requires a high performing internet experience. They have purchased a dedicated static IP and bandwidth that promises a minimum 1Gbps 24/7 through a private ISP. They have spent a large sum brokering that deal, and I don't want to inform them that some security devices I put into production will drop performance speeds and throughput too much, so overhead is a big concern.
I think they could probably squeeze out 300 bucks for a security router...please let me know if you offer something along this level that defaults to a https adminsitrative console logon session.
What I don't want to do, is to knock them off the network and physically unconnect each time I log to make any maintenance changes to the adminstrative console, and fully flush packet of memory from an unprotected http session each time I need to log in.
this would be especially and significantly important if I desired to remotely log to the device.
so, you can understand from a security pov, the need for a true https connection state to the console.
is this possible?
If not, what model or software do you offer in the 300 dollar range that can perform that important feature.
thanks,
