Hello,

I have been working to troubleshoot a speed issue relating to my Deco XE5300.

Xfinity <----> XB8 <---> Deco XE5300

If I connect my laptop via ethernet directly to the XB8 when not in bridge mode and do a speed test using speedtest.net, I get in the upper 900Mbps, which is what I would expect.

With the XB8 in Bridge Mode and connecting the same laptop with the same cable to the Deco XE5300, I get about 160Mbps.

If I take the XB8 out of Bridge Mode but stay connected to the Deco XE5300, I get the same result, about 160Mbps.

The link light on the XB8 for the Deco XE5300 indicates a Gig connection, but I am getting nowhere near that when my traffic is running through the Deco.

I have seen some references to being able to change the port speed on the Deco with some special firmware; apparently, in those situations, the Deco was sending traffic faster than a gig, and the Modem was getting confused and dropping packets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suggest you continually bump this topic to the front page. Along with try using the Deco subreddit and asking there too. As it feels like the moderators who are supposed to be working here aren’t paying enough attention lately. My guess could be the company might be trying to replace them with AI. 😓
