@Carl

Whatever you have tried or done, here we go, the weekend has arrived and forum has been taken over.

EDIT: I needed to do a Captca to post, so either a robot got around it, or people are doing this?

I understand.  Its mainly a factor of not having admins available on weekends to control the spam while developement is working out a proper solution.   We have made several more suggestions and are just waiting for a response now.  I hope to have a better answer in the next few days

It’s still happening, so whatever measures they’re trying so far aren’t working. Either that or they’ve annoyed someone off who’s doing it manually out of personal spite. In the days of AI, companies need to stop leaving stuff to AI to save money by cutting employees. It just ends up screwing the customers. But, these days that’s not the main priority anymore.

It is probably a person, it seems a Capcha was added and they was bypassed.

It is sort of playing 'whack-a-mole' but other forums have done it.

Look for 'common words', or in this case numbers. The phone number once appeared to be a picture, so that might not work.

Use 'How to' might but if you state why they'd do it differently.

What another forum did if some checks, one was where the user came from, first IP Address, then city it was from. Put those on Review and only let 'real topical' posts go live. Also there are other things too that to look for. Put them on REVIEW is the best way, especially those that joined the last day or so... Joined but never made a post, DELETE the user, sometimes one will join to bypass the new user that day on review  Not posting allows them to come back a day later and post.... got to attack one at a time...

However, on weekends, this place is useless.

Sadly, I’ve have to agree with your later sentiment. 😓

Edit: Speak of the devil right now, they just started again.

Yes, so far a single post (could someone deleted a few, maybe automatically?).

I just Googled "𝟏-𝟖𝟕𝟕-𝟖𝟐𝟕-𝟖𝟒𝟗𝟑", and that number is in NUMEROUS forums..

This isn't that easy to stop it seems... Rogue ISP allowing it? Of course, some show dates that are not recent, so maybe some do know how to block these... but it also suggest either a 'band' of people doing this, maybe AI even?
