Spam on the forum
It is very annoying to find spam on the forum so often, which makes it difficult to find support threads that are relevant. I would hope that a tech company like TP-Link would be able to find a way to deal with this issue.

A few months ago, similar attacks (daily no less) happened on Dell and other forums.
They all managed to automatically shut them down.
Some used putting new joining memebers on Review. Other look at the city/country and IP address range and blocked those.
Other saw the key words they used, like here the phone number, and other similar wording and subjects, and would not allow them to be posted.
Forum owners here appear not to want to do anything. Over a weekend (starting Friday afternoon here) they flood the forum, and it isn't until someone, probably on the West Coast comes in, sees the stuff (or notices otherst have sent in as reports) do they take action manually to remove them.
Once they know it will not be posted, they will move on, or change so they can get around the blockage. I did see one that used what appeared to be a phone number created with picture letters which would be hard to block.
If TP-Link is at all thinking these forums are worthwhile, you'd think they would be working to solve the problem, especially on weekends so they have some value to us as owners of TP-Link products.
If nothing else, allow some 'trusted' members of this forum the ability to 'hide' objectionable posts that would not be visible and yet the moderators could see those hidden later and either delete them or make them visible when they review them.

By the way, there is another one today that is recent, see https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/781710
and in it is a phone number, common to all SPAM, "𝟏-𝟖𝟕𝟕-𝟐𝟎𝟏-𝟒𝟒𝟐𝟔".
Now Google than number, and there are MANY web sites hit with this, interestingly, the few I check the links do not work, and this goes back it seems even to the beginning of the year. Quite possible these are robots?

@IrvSp It is possible these are bots, but the timing seems a little too convenient. Either it's someone upset with the possible American firmware issues and pressing for a show of action, or a company is leveraging the laxed security to make TP Link look like it's faltering.
Neither looks great, so it's a win win for everyone but TP Link. But, these started roughly around the time of the ban news months back, up until then I never saw it.
Though I agree, there needs to be a system in place to block the messages in the hours no admins are around. As marking spam is a pain, one by one.

A few months ago, Dell forums were under attack. Very similar, I recall a phone number to get support, and it was a fake place. I understand that Dell was able to determine where the posts came from, as like here, all by someone joining that day. When one visits a site, a lot of data can be captured, like the IP Address, which can trace back to a location. I think they also recognized the UID format similarities. Anyway, they I believe put ALL new UID's on review, and in a short periodof time the attack stopped. At the time, the phone number inside could be Googled, just like here, and many many web pages were under the same attack.
No matter what, TP-Link has to do something. Forum(s) are useless on weekends.
I don't think the attack is due to anything TP-Link or didn't do. Too many other sites see the same thing hitting them. Either Robot's or some people playing to see which forums they can invade.

Agreed, the Spam is a problem. We are very much aware of it and do what we can during working hours to address it as much as possible. We have been working with our developement and IT teams to find more permanent resolutions but may of those will take time. Some have been applied this week and we hope that has addressed a large portion of it. We do thank you for being patient as we do what we can to address this issue.

Every weekend these forums are useless, until someone comes in on Monday and cleans them up.
Clearly it is a NEW MEMBERS that joined Fri/Sat and more than one, doing the posting.
You really need to put new members on REVIEW before releasing any posts. Others have done this and eventually the spammer's go away.
I know on website was able to determine the CITY that the Spammer's posted from and put only those on Review.
Also you now and always had 'keywords' rejected in attempted posts. Like 'objectionable' or 'curse' words. Add things like 'Air France', 'Royal Carribean', etc. The phoie number as well, although it wouldn't catch all them and they do use different format of "1~215~253~6699" although I've seen some that were not text but pictures of letters. Could even use just '6699' and it might catch a lot of them. For the phone number I wouldn't post that there was objectionable text in the post, but take it in and put the post on review by some one before it is posted.
There has to be something done tto cover weekends when this happens.

Trust me, I am well aware of that. We are actively working with IT and Develeopment to address these concerns. Several avenues are being reviewed, espcially to address weekend influx. We are already making use of banned words filters and have adjusted Captcha settings to better address these concerns. It has helped with the volume but not enough, especially on weekends. If there is anything further I can share I would be happy to do so.
