So, I have been trying to change the UPnP settings on my router(Deco M4) cuz strict NAT type. All tutoerials etc tell me to use the app. My problem is that the router was set up by my mother who left it when she moved out. She's the furthest thing from techsavvy person and Im starting  to lose braincells at this point.
I've tried to connect to the deco multiple times on my phone and my roommates phone but we both just get the same spinning icon when we try to connect the deco to our phones through the app. is there any way to change the nat settings of the router other than through the app?
also no idea about the hardware version of the router

Unless your mother gave you the credentials to her TP-Link ID your going to have issues.  Deco can only be managed through the app.  So the first thing to do is you need to create a TP-Link ID of your own.  You can do this by downloading the Deco app and creating a new account.    Next you will need your mother to sign into her Deco app and change the owner of the network to the account you created.  This FAQ will walk you through that process.
