Model: Archer AX5400 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I tried to set up a networked drive. I can access it from one computer on the network, but not from this one--the one I used to set up the network from. A dialog box asks for userid and password. I never assigned userids. why is this computer asking for userid? I would appreciate any insights into this mystery.

  @Oregon

Look at the user guide for your router in the USB sharing section as I think you need to set those settings.

  @ArcherC8 I do not recall any setting that would make it require a userid. Furthermore, it works when I use a different Win 10 computer that is on the network.

  @Oregon Is the other computer a Home or Pro?  If I remember right the Home systems had some networking stuff turnedd off by default.
