I recently started using smart devices TV's, lights, switches, cameras, approximately 30 devices and my Archer C50 constantly loses connectivity. I either reboot set up or both several times a day I think its time to replace it. What should I replace my Archer C50 with?

  @Jason_Ross

Asking someone which router to get is sort of like asking which car should you buy.

Some things to consider:

How fast is your ISP connection such as needing one that supports speeds greater than 1 Gig?

Do you need a super fast connection for things like playing games?

What devices need support such as very old or very new.

Do you want or need to separate network for the Iot devices?

Do you need multiple guest networks or separate WIFI 7 network?

How is your current coverage to see if you need just a router or a MESH system, or router and extender?

What USB devices are connected to the router such as disk drives or printers?

How many Ethernet ports are needed?

Do want or need special features such as VLAN?

Do you like tried and true or newest and greatest (bleeding edge) devices?

Are you a tech that wants a lot of options or a plug and play type of person?

What is your budget?

Do you buy for the long term or just what is currently needed.

Any planned changes such as faster ISP speeds, different ISP, moving, ...?

Most new routers today will support a large number of devices if that is you main concern.

My advice is:

Go see what is in stock in the local stores so you know what models are currently available.

Find several that you think meets your needs plus allow for some future growth.

Research each. TP Lnk router web pages are some of the best for seeing what a router can do. Look up each router's web page, its spec, page, and the support page. The support page you can view the user manual and the Emulator (may need to go to the earliest version).

Go with a popular newer model.

Get it from a place with a good return policy, and give it a go. Return if needed.

Keep the old router as a backup in case the replacement one dies a few years from now or may be used as an AP.
