Extending network outdoors
Hello, I have a mesh network set up inside my house using an AX55 as a base and various models of mesh devices to route the signals through the house. I want to add better coverage to my property outside but I don't want to have to change my setup or have a control program like an enterprise system.
If I ran something like the EAP650 in access point mode from one of the ethernet ports on my router, does that basically just turn it into an outside antenna that broadcasts my network from it? Is it a seamless, automatic handoff to the access point when walking around? Or does it create its own closed network that you have to manually switch to like the older extenders before the days of mesh? From what I think i understand of access points, it seems like it would basically be an outdoor antenna broadcasting my main SSID but I am definitely not a networking expert. It seems like there should be something easy like that since there doesn't really seem to be any options other than deco for an exterior mesh extender. I'm fine with running some cable, I just don't want to get into a whole new system cause I'm already pretty invested in this one.
Some clarification would be very helpful, thank you,
Ron
