I've got W11 problems too, NET VIEW from a Command Prompt doesn't work, reports errors.

I've used a BE230 and had similar problems to yours. A F/W update no longer supported the USB drive. Moved up to a BE65. Seems OK, but NET VIEW didn't work, and Support remote connected to me and determined this is a W11 Net View Problem (which MS has basically Deprecated).

As for the USB issue,

Are the 'updates' MS Updates or TP-Link F/W updates, I assume Windows though?

How are you accessing the USB drive in Windows? If I use Win 11 V24H2 and in Windows Explorer I see the USB drive on the router:

What are the SHARING settings on the PC (Windows Home/Pro)? Is Password Protected Sharing enabled? It should be OFF unless in the Router Settings you have it on. Since others connect, it probably needs to be off.

Assuming you've not changed the default Router Share name, from a COMMAND PROMPT, enter these commands and it should look like this:

C:\>net view \\tp-share
Shared resources at \\tp-share

Share name  Type  Used as  Comment

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G           Disk
The command completed successfully.

C:\>dir \\tp-share\g

The last one would show the USB drive contents. Does thatr show correctly?

However, W11 Network shares are a mess to be sure.

I see you replied (via email I got) and I get the SAME NET VIEW error on W11, and on W10, I've gotten the error 53.... however using the NET VIEW \\SHARENAME or NET VIEW \\SHARENAME\SHARE works fine on both PC's and can even use NET USE driveletter: \\SHARENAME\SHARE to connect the USB drive to our PC's and use READ/WRITE to the USB as a driver letter.

I'm on W11 Home, and other W10 is a PRO...

MS changed SMB1 with the 24H2 W11 release.

On W11 Home this 'setting' is DISABLED, otherwise if on Pro you have to use GPEDIT. Google this, "windows 11 smb changes" for more info and "windows 11 smb changes gpedit" for what needs to be changed.

It might be possible too that the USB drive Catalog file is messed up? I recall that happening to me once I think? I had to disconnect the USB and then connect it again? That should rebuild the .TDlNA folder I recall? Maybe had to delete it, not sure?

Another suggestion, take the USB drive to a PC and run CHKDSK /F on it? It might have been partially corrupted during a power loss or during a F/W update? If it was, this would 'fix' the drive and you can put it back on the router.

 I am still having a problem seeing all messages, but ONLY with Firefox? Edge works fine?

New Windows Update maybe or even Firefox, odd?

Could even be the new Nvidia driver I installed 2 days ago?

Welll, well, well, it seems that there is nothing we can do about. This afternoon I met a friend who has an ASUS router and he told me that he is experiencing exactly the same problem with Windows 11.

  @lesm Yes, Win 11 has networking issues when tried to open up stuff on shared stuff.  Going through the This PC>Network will give you can't connect message.  But if you use the command pormpt and net use command to map the drive it will work until you restart the system.
