Alexa Echo Dot
I just replaced my 10 year old Spectrum Modem (at their suggestion) for better performance. Can't tell who the manufacturer is other than it was made in the Philippines. Model # is ES2251. Decided to also replace my 10 year old TP-Link TL-WR841N router at the same time with an Archer AX73. Combined together, I have quadrupled my download speeds. I also have 5 Echo Dots around the house. Not sure if they are first or second generation. Have had them about 7 years. They had no trouble on set up with the old router, but they have thrown a roadblock at me with hte AX73. I have followed all the prompts and suggestions from the Alexa app and have been unable to have the Dots find a Wi-fi signal. The Wi-fi is recognized by my two PC's at different locations in my house so I know the router is working properly.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced my problem with the Echo Dots in getting them to find a Wi-fi signal and if so, how did you fix it?
Thanks

Just guessing here, but do you have an individual 2.4Ghz SSID or a shared 2.4/5Ghz one?
Security of the SSID could also present a problem? WPA2 should be used. If WPA3 possible the Echo's can't see the SSID?

Thanks for the quick reply. From what I cam gather from the Wireless settings page, this is a Shared set up as both the 2.4 and 5 ghz options are enabled and active. Both were set on Auto. Security is set for WPA2. Open to your suggestions for changing any settings for experimenting.
Update:
Just checked again and the SSID for 2.4 is not the same for the 5.

I had a similar problem, I swapped out my router to test something, and then put my original router back. No changes in SSID or Network name in the swaps.
I had a problem with both of our Amazon devices (did NOT check when the swapped router was in), an Echo 1st Gen I recall and an Echo Show.
Echo Show was easy, had to manually enter the SSID P/W.
Echo, was not easy. Had to use the app and although it saw the SSID and had the correct P/W it couldn't connect. Powering the Echo off and on fixed that. Maybe that is all that is needed?
As long as it can see the 2.4Ghz SSID, I wouldn't expect a problem though.
I have Spectrum and the same Modem, however, the MODEM has nothing to do with your LAN.
BTW, I've had that modem for a few years, I don't recall I got it, but it is one of the newer ones... I have 1Gbps service, and the WAN output say 2.5G and it is a Voice modem as well. When they upped the service here to 1Gbps, many people had the modem's replace to use the higher speeds.

Very informative info. Thanks.
I can't tell you how many times I powered the Dots on and off. It it a wonder the power plug hasn't fractured. Did not work. Is there a way to access the SSID of the Dot?I have checked the Device Settings and can not find reference to a SSID. My Dot shows the Orange ring but the Alexa app searches for the device but can not find it. I decided to Deregister the Dot and start over but still no joy. The app can not find the device. Bluetooth is enabled.

All I can think of is RESTART the entire network, router and have the Dot's off, then one the network is up, then power up the DOT's....
If you GOOGLE "echo dot lan ssid" it will show you a link to LifeWire (can not post non-TP-Link URL's here) and it has full details too.
I assume you'd used the Alexa Echo App? Should be able to do that with it?
Wondering though, has you Gateway IP Address changed? Some routers use 192.168.0.1, there others use different ones, and that can be a problem is the same SSID is used... devices have to be changed to FORGET the OLD SSID, even if the same name and joined again.
For instance, my Deco BE65 has 192.168.68.1 and the Gateway IP Address, whereas my back-up BE230 has 192.168.0.1 as the Gateway IP Address... some devices save LAN info, so do not it seems.
Powering the DOT off and on doesn't do a full reset, You might have to do it, Google "how to reset an echo dot" for instructions.

Hi @miata54
Welcome to the community.
If you haven't already, I'd suggest using the steps outlined on Amazon's help page to update the Wi-Fi settings for your Echo device:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GKC33PUJZTSDWQK6
Since your other devices are able to connect to the new router just fine, the Echo devices may simply require a little adjusting on their end when connecting to the new network.

Hi Ryan:
Thanks for that link. When I told my wife that I was unable to fix the Dot(s), she went out and bought an Echo Spot. Installed it today without issue. So I decided to give it one more try, and...BINGO! I Deregistered all 5 Dots and started from scratch. Here is the procedure I used, one Dot at a time.
1. Deregistered the Dot(s)
2. Restored power
3. As the blue ring circulated, I held down the Microphone and Minus buttons until the ring went out. I believe this reset the Dot to factory settings.
4. Blue ring returned and then I held down the Action button until the ring changed to Orange. Alexa then told me that she had to prepare the Dot for setup and that it take about a minute.
5. The next screen on my phone showed a pic of the Dot and that it was ready for set up and to proceed.
6. Next screen said it was searching for the network followed by "Searching for Wi-Fi" which was followed by "Your Echo Dot is ready for use" or something to that effect..
I was able to restore all my Dots this way. I think the key steps were Deregistering them and then restoring them to the factory settings which removed all corrupt data. Just ny thoughts.
Thanks to all who responded.
