I am attempting to set up and configure my access point TL-WA801ND. I have ran an ethernet cable from my router/modem in my house to my workshop about 150 feet away (may be up to 200 feet of cable). I have connected this to my access point and powered it up. I attempted to access with my ipad and iphone but it does not appear in the wifi list. I then took the access point back to the house and made the direct connection via ethernet cable to the router/modem. I can see the tp-link wifi but when I attempt to connect the ipad and iphone show the wifi  but continue to spool and will never connect. The wifi shows an ip address of 169.254.184.113 and a submask of 255.255.0.0 . 

 

Since it never connects nor connects to the internet, I cannot log into the internet nor log into TP link to configure the AP.  

 

Any suggestions as to how I may get the AP to connect? I am challanged with this so you may need to offer additional instructions.

Reset the AP by pressing the reset button for about 10 seconds. Then connect to its wireless SSID and direct a browser to its default IP address - 192.168.0.254.
