Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.11

Hello, I have just purchased the Deco XE75 Pro (3 units) for home use.

Not very tech savy for sure.
I have one set up in a room closest to the garage building about 75 ft away.

The two units are line of site about 75 ft apart sitting in windows for minimal impact on strength.

The connectivity is "Medium" from the one in the garage.

I am wondering the best way to get it to work better.

Would one of these be what I need?

EAP610-Outdoor
or
Deco X50 Outdoor AX3000 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi• 6 Router

Thank you in advance.

Not to sure what you’re describing, might be easier to make a quick sketch of your home’s floor plan on paper (or ms paint) and the location of each unit. So far it sounds like the wall between the garage and the room could be blocking the signal.

  @WYLDSTALLYNS

Thank you so much for your reply.

Is this too complicated of a drawing? I used our site plan and tried to white out unnecessary lines.

After looking at our property, we've thought about adding Smart Home Devices for garage doors and the front property gate if possible.

We currently have the DecoXE75 Pro with 3 units.

Unit 1 is in the upstairs office with an ethernet cable attached and lives near a window that overlooks the asphalt driveway. It connects strongly with unit 2 in the window at the front of the house, nearest the detached garage.

The 3rd unit is in the detached garage window and has medium connectivity to unit 2.

Red lines on the site map are window areas for the main house, greenhouse, and garage building. 1' equals approximately 30ft.

My best guess is that the greenhouse window to the main house window is approximately 100 feet. There is a line of site window to window.

My best guess is that the garage window (unit 3) to the main house window (unit 2) is approximately 50 feet. Unit 2 and 3 do connect, it just isn't a strong connection.

My questions:

What to use for coverage for the side/backyard, and greenhouse?

What to use to get a stronger signal to the detached garage (units 2 and 3)?

What to use for future Smart Home devices on garage doors and front gate.

I was looking at these options unless there is something else:

EAP610 - Outdoor

or

DECO X50 Outdoor AX3000 Dual band Mesh wifi 6 router

Thank you in advance,

@TBathke Away from home at the moment, but can you mark in the image where the routers are placed on the property. Might give an idea if placement could be the problem.

Also, there's height of each device, as sometimes if a device is low the neighboring objects can be the problem. But, I have OCD, so I enjoy the break down of placement for optimal signal lol.

@TBathke Do you require more than "medium" connectivity?

Windows are obstacles for the wifi signal.

A single X50 Outdoor close to the Deck might be sufficient to provide the coverage you want.

Or one X50 Outdoor on the west side of the house, and one on the east side of the garage, provided they are no obstacles between those.

In both cases, you will want to wire each outdoor Deco to a Deco inside the building.

  @yves_b

Thank you all for your help!

I have added an extender inside and an additional Deco unit. This has done the trick.

Thank you!
