Before Upgrading

(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the pre-release firmware!

(2) For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.

(3) You may follow the guide to upgrade the firmware of your router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.

  @Ryan I will give it a try.

Installed with no issues, I like the new interface icons on the clients page.

The beta wallpaper is hurting my eyes though, also makes the left side menus in Advanced harder to see.

update:  Speedtest app shows download speeds way down from expected speeds, upload is normal.  Same results with QOS on and off.  Will try again later to see if it settles out.

more: 5 minutes to download Nvidia video driver, rebooted router and download speed still slow.  Switching back to public version for now.

even more:  went back to public, downloads were still slow.  Rebooted cable modem and router, speeds normal.  Beta firmware reinstalled and speeds are normal so keeping beta for now.

  @Ryan Not a problem, I used to Beta Test routers for another company in the past and am used to having to play around with things to make it work.

I have had problems with devices disconnecting from the release of this model (v1). Any chance there is anything in the change log hidden in the vague "Enhanced system stability and security." that helps out with the stability of the 2.4 band?

  @Ryan Any plan to release this to the GE800 model?

Hope R&D release it for that model to test.

Unfortunately we do not have any specific insights into what's coming before it arrives. However, if/when updates are made available, we'll keep the community updated. We also recommend keeping an eye on our monthly firmware update thread, as well as your product's firmware release page.

  @Ryan

I had tried this beta firmware for few days , but found some bugs as below :

1. My Window 11 24H2 laptop with Intel BE200 cannot connect to MLO SSID once access control was enabled in BE800 V1 , despite all BE200's MAC address were added in allow list . Disable access control to work around for now .

2. Some old WiFi 6 devices can connect to MLO SSID , is it normal ?

3. Updated this beta firmware from V1_1.1.6 Build 20240808 , there's no login screen to input password displayed in Win11 24H2 with many browsers , only full screen beta wallpaper ; I had to use tether app to reset BE800 the login and setup from the very begining .....

Would you please look into the access control problem first ? Thanks in advance.

  @AXJ @Riley

Having all issues reported here, coming from 1.1.6

Ended up reseting to factory settings and go thru the configuration process all the way, in order to work correctly with normal speeds, and able to login to admin via browser.

  @Ryan One thing I'm noticing is with this release is that both of my IoT SSID's are acting like they are hidden although that box is not checked to be hidden.   It won't broadcast the SSID for them, but devices that were previously associated with that SSID are able to connect.    I rolled back to the previous version and they did not reappear.   I then turned off the MLO altogether and they reappeared.   I reapplied the BETA and the IoT SSID's dissappeard again (but devices could connect) even though MLO was still deactive.
