Using MLO as default network on my network connection. ALWAYS uses 5 GH band instead of 6 GHz.

Is there a way to force 6 GHz?  Otherwise, why did I buy a wifi 7 router?

  @PathVet

Do you mean your device connects to the MLO SSID, but uses a single band, 5GHz?

Why do you believe the device should use the 6GHz band?

What is that device?

Are you running Windows 11 24H2? That HAS support of WiFi 7....

Before I was 'offered' that and installed it, I saw what you do.

After 24H2 installed, I see this in the Network and Internet settings:

  @IrvSp

Device is home network with Samsung S24 Ultra.  This is what the connection page looks like.

Can't help you here, like Windows 11, I suspect a specific Windows release (24H2) or higher is needed to support Wifi 7. Windows 10 doesn't support the 6Ghz SSID at all for instance (wife's PC).

iPhone 16 which I have DOES, and it does connect to the MLO SSID, but doesn't tell me much about it, as all I can do is speed test. Supposedly it seems to have WiFi 6E support but I found this on an Apple web page:

-------------

All iPhone 16 models support Wi-Fi 7 in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands and Multi-Link Operation (MLO).

-------------

This is what I see:

e2c9082883a4494cab73e1d8ad51ea8a

So, it appears it does but I can't actually see that MLO connects to 2 SSID's like I can in Windows....

Not a lot of info there, and not much more on the circled i but the password and some other non-connection settings and info.

You should check with Samsung to see if the S24 supports (not connects to) MLO?

I did Google that and found this AI synopsis:

=================

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7 Multi-Link Operation (MLO):

  • Wi-Fi 7 capabilities
    The S24 Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7, which includes a 320 MHz channel bandwidth that's double the size of the previous generation. This allows for multi-gigabit peak rates, which can improve streaming, downloads, and connectivity.
  • MLO compatibility
    The S24 Ultra is compatible with MLO, along with other devices like the Google Pixel 8 and laptops with Intel BE200 wireless adapters.
  • Testing
    The S24 Ultra has been tested with other Wi-Fi 7 devices, including the Google Pixel 8 and OnePlus 11.
However, not all Samsung Galaxy S24 models support Wi-Fi 7:
  • Some models have the Exynos 2400 chip, while others use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
  • The S24 and S24 Plus models with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset only work with Wi-Fi 6E.

=================

It does say above it was tested with Wifi 7 but no mention of MLO?

I should mention that before on W11 before the 24H2 update the Windows Connect on MLO only showed 6Ghz SSID... although the LAN worked fine.
