  @Feealf

thanks for the followup.

i actually had good results with this. I had an engineer reach out to me weeks ago -- right around the start of this thread -- and after some troubleshooting, he sent me a beta firmware to install on the ge800. i noted issues when my device, specifically the iPhone 16 PM, would drop the mlo connection, and even how the internet would just slow to a crawl. i sent the logs daily. eventually, he scheduled a remote session with other engineers. we just did this last week. i had them remote into the router and they did their tests. they DID find an issue that made the phone ( 16PM) lost connection to the mlo network. i could see what they were doing and i saw the line of code that was the cause of the error, so the first engineer sent me current/official firmware to load back onto my router. i am hopeful this new firmware for this device will be better, given that they were able to see the issue from my router when they remoted in.

my 16pm is on latest apple beta firmware also, so that was helpful to them.

I'm sorry you did not get anywhere with them. the engineer who reached out to me was hands-on all the way and proactive in the conversation through emails...

i just wanted to reply to this message.

after having tp link techs remote into my router, they found the issue that was affecting the mlo. i was also having more of an issue on the apple 16pm because it would lose mlo after a while. i use dev beta firmware on the iphone as an fyi

anyway, i also had some issues with my IoT devices failing on the IoT network and the router overall just being sluggish.

tp link sent me a new router and all of my issues have gon away.

i had an early serial number ( in the 20s!!) and its possible it had some other hidden hardware issues. i purchased it from Amazon direct ( not a 3rd party). the new router now has a serial number in the high 200's and has been stable since day one.

just wanted to post up my results. now I'm pleased with the system. i have my ioT devices on their own network, and all other bands are working well.

  @Nyquist-Shannon Thank you for the update.  I'll look into the things you have tried and reach out to TP-Link if neccessary.  Spending that much on a state-of-the-art router, to have the latest tech built-in and not have it function as wanted, is a real bummer.  So I'll mess around with it again and I'm now listed on their Beta program as well, so have that option for updated firmware as well.
