I just bought one of these today from Best Buy.  I have been looking forward to WiFi 7 for a couple months.  I bought a cheap Chinese WiFi 7 adapter from Newegg which did not work with my ASUS flagship router.  ASUS just bought back the router due to mesh issues.   So far, I am only able to connect at WiFi 6 802.11ax with the TBE6500UH.  I have a brand-new UniFi setup with their  U7 Pro Max AP and Win 11 24H2.  I have tried two different laptops with no success.  The aggregated link speed looks correct @ 2882 Mbps.  Maybe a bug but I would expect to see WiFi 7 BE.

I also bought the TBE 6500 wifi7 usb adapter from Best Buy and have the same problem where although it's working, the protocol shows as WiFi6 802.11AX and not 802.11BE. I am using an Orbi 970 Wifi7 system and there is nothing to set on the Orbi side. Has anyone called TP-link support yet? I wonder if it's a windows issue and nothing to do with the adapter?

On another note, this TP-Link adaptor costs $179 at Best Buy but on Amazon a company called Fenvi sells the same "looking" device claiming it uses the same BE6500 chipset for 3x cheaper. Both devices look identical but the Fenvi device only has one driver listed published back in September 2024 whereas the TP-Link device has a recent Feburary 2025 driver available. Is the functionality of both devices the same? Is the TP-Link device more money because we can expect driver updates as the WiFi 7 standard is finialized?

As a follow-up, the basic problem with this adaptor is it won't connect using WiFi 7 MLO meaning using both the 5Ghz and 6Ghz bands together. I reached out to TP-link support who eventually sent my ticket to engineering. I got a call from someone in TP-Link engineering and they were insisting the problem was not with the adaptor but with my computer. After stating I was using the TP-Link driver, the latest so how could it be my computer, they eventually decided to research it some more.

Has anyone got this adaptor to work using WiFi 7 protocol and MLO?

I have owned both, first the knock off brand as it was first available.  I returned mine immediately months ago.  Neither worked with MLO and I was not willing to wait for an official tp-link driver…  I tried two completely different modern laptops with 6E.

Sounds like an engineering issue they cannot overcome but have advertised the capability.  I did find it strange they have two BE6500 adapters (TBE6500UH & TBE400UH) which appear to be the same device.
