Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I need to add a 4th node to my Deco mesh network that currently has 3 Deco x55 units with the satellites using wireless backhaul. If I can get a Deco x20 (version 2) unit, I understand from my research that it should come with “Homecare”.

If I set up the Deco x20 (version 2) unit as the “main” connected to the AT&T Fiber (300 Mbps) via Ethernet and three x55 units as satellites with wireless backhaul, I believe that should preserve the use of Homecare in my mesh network, correct?

And, while some of the specs for the x55 are slightly better than the x20, the fact that my incoming internet is only 300 Mbps I should see very little, if any, loss of functionality using the x20 as the main while still getting Homecarecorrect?

Just trying to confirm what my research has discovered.  Thanks!!

My understanding of how Deco devices integrate with new features aligns with yours. Once you designate the Deco X20 as the primary device, you should gain access to HomeCare.

It is important to note that the X55 units may provide options and features that are not available on the X20. As a result, you may forfeit access to those specific features based on this information.

Thanks. Can you suggest where I can research potential lost features of the x55?  --->  "It is important to note that the X55 units may provide options and features that are not available on the X20. As a result, you may forfeit access to those specific features based on this information."

Sure here is a link to the X20 information

Keep in mind you may not lose anything in switching and you can always switch back later on if you do lose an option on the X55 that you really like
