I am looking to replace an older netgear wifi router with a TP-Link Deco mesh system to add extedned seamless coverage to larger space. There are two very similar systems that I can't seem to see the difference in (the Deco XE70 Pro and the Deco XE75 Pro). Can anyone offer me suggenstion on teh differnce between these two systems? Is one better than the other for some reason I am missing?

  @vanousb Unless I am wrong (which is always possible) my research shows there is no differrnce at all in size, specs, etc exept for the xe70pro has youtube restrictions and safesearch in the homeshield option. As this is a service I cant see what the 75pro does not have these as well. On prime day they were discounted but the xe70pro was 50 less. not sure now which is newer. Usually the bigger number is newer (75pro) but not sure in this case as the info is hard to find. Anyway  I chose to get both with the thought I could return the lesser of the two. Any other input to enlighten me is welcome.

  @vanousb I believe the XE 70 Pro is newer in this situation. I only say that because The Xe 75 Pro has been out for a couple years, I believe and when I went to add another the Xe 70 Pro popped up an Amazon and it specifically said 2024 version.

  @vanousb

XE70 has somewhat lower spec wifi speeds.

Probably lower grade chips that don't quite meet the 2402 Mbps performance per channel. Just like Intel's i7/i5/i3 production. Lower performance gets lower spec badge.

Also notice that firmware versions can differ.

XE70/pro only has hardware version 3.6, whereas the older XE75/pro has a few hardware versions. Each hardware version has specific latest firmware version, and they are not all the same.

It would seem from this forum that XE75/pro firmware is somewhat prioritized. Not sure about that though.
