Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 Build 20240325 rel. 56896

I have just purchased my Archer Ax55 and have not been able to have the 2.4 ghz channel function at full speed. The signal strength is strong and I can connect to the network anywhere in the house but even right next to the router, the average dow load speed I see is 47.5 kbps. The 5ghz channel functions properly. From my IP I should be at 250mbps and I see roughly 280 from ethernet and anywhere from 80-240mbps on the 5ghz channel.

I have reset the router, I have made sure eco mode and QoS are off. I have checked for updates and I show the router is up to date. Aside from a factory reset is there anything else that can be done?

Also I have only had the router for about 2 weeks and the 2.4ghz has never functioned.

  @Ajcasti

The device you attach may make a difference as how it connects and wifi settings make as does a lot of other things.

For example a device that uses 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, or 802.11ac will have different speeds maxs. The channel you are using may have a lot of interference which slows speeds, number of devices effect speed, distance, and so on.

  @ArcherC8

Currently there are no active devices connected to the network (through the 2.4ghz channel). I have tried connecting a laptop, android, and 2 gaming devices, all of which have <1mbps download speed.

If this is an issue of interference, how do I remedy it?

be sure the mode is set correctly in the wifi settings. Try different channels.

If that dors not work, I would open a support ticket and see if you can get it replaced.
