Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am having trouble connecting my Archer ax3000 wifi6 with Spectrum service.  The modem is fine--I am replacing a rental router that Specturm had been leasing me and it had worked fine.  When I set up the Archer AX3000, my laptop can find the network I set up but it cant connect to internet. I tried changing the ethernet cables, but nothing seemed to work.   When I went back to the Spectrum store, the Spectrum rep told me that Spectrum doesnt support this model of router (though Amazon had said that it was compatible).  Yet when I go on the Specturm website to find a compatible router, it sends me back to the TP-link website.  Anyone have this issue and how did you resolve?

Generally, most routers work with most modems. ISPs generalty provide a gateway which is a modem and router combo. To attach a users router, you need to either shut off the router part of the gateway (set in bridge mode) and attach the router to the gateway or replace the gateway with a ISP compatable modem and attach the router to it.

I do not use the ISP gateway ( no monthy hardware fee) and use my own modem. I have xfinity and have to use a modem that works on their network. Then I can choose just about any router on the market to connect to my modem. I made sure the modem I selected was faster than the current tier I was on to allow for future growth. The more up and down channels the better.
