Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.5 rel 58766

Had Orbi's but eventually they died and wasnt keen on some of the issues i had with them....

So anyway I updated to Deco XE75 (v2) mesh nodes and really liking it so far (with dedicated hardwired backhaul) - as there was always some issue with the ORBI not connecting to the 4 satellites...  anyhow  - so idk if its the neighbors but the tplink mesh 9when my guest network was actually working) was saying there is a lot of interference and my first thought went right to the my Nokia ATT fiber box -  maybe the wifi is not being used on it but the radio is still on and its jamming me up in that part of the house.... IDK (so im looking into that)

In the meantime is there any other reason i might be seeing quite a bit of interference on guest NWK before it stopped workign all together ? Perhaps its some advanced setting that got altered/nuked after doing a recent fw update?

So the XE75s are pretty much for 2.4G network devices that i need (IOT etc)  as well as  5G on the phones and other random stuff... but im old school and prefer to have things hardwired - most of it is (there's no way around some stuff ) - but just dont know why i was get interference on my guest network (which is 2.4 only)    - think i tried to setup and use the deco's   "IOT network" at some point but think i ran into some issues with some devices not being detected or something. So was tryign to spend some time on this today and for some weird reason cannot even connect to the "guest_network" anymore - looks like it tries to obtain an ip address but then gives up and switches back to the main wifi network,  The mesh has a dedicated wired backhaul so know its not communication within the mesh nodes - and also my main wifi  seems to work great - but why is my guest network dead?

So need to get the guest network back up before i even start on the interference issue - but haven't had luck getting the guest back up - even after checking for updates and rebooting the mesh - any thoughts?  - Is there some settings that not nuked or need to be altered ?

  @strangedays,

A few things to point out,

The congestion for channels in Deco is not always accurate and will sometimes measure its own radio channels when calculating interference - less than ideal, but an unfortunate side effect of how the channel optimization of Deco works.

I recommend getting a channel or Wi-Fi scanning tool on your phone. These apps will provide you with an overview of what networks are being broadcast around you and what channels they are on. Due to the many networked devices in your home and the homes around you, there is also a large degree of interference on the 2.4 Ghz band that simply cannot be avoided.

The guest network going down is likely not related to the channel choices. Do you happen to know if the behavior is limited to only one device, or other phones also? What type of phone are you connecting?

Try first disconnecting and preventing reconnects for the phone on the main network. Then, double-check that you have all of the Guest Network settings properly configured and that the network is showing as available in the Deco App. There are duration settings that may have expired. Does changing the Wi-FI settings (SSID+ Password) of the guest network allow devices to connect?

For the IoT network, you can configure 2.4 vs 5GHz connections, along with being able to choose a lower security method so that older and IoT devices can connect and see the network.
