Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: Archer AX73(US)_V2.6_1.0.12 Build 20231023

This router has been running with no issues and no changes for the last 3 months.

Suddenly the other day the internet stopped working. ?? The cable modem link lights are all on, including the link to the ax73. But there's an orange light on the ax73 wan port (that goes to the cable modem). I log into the ax73 interface and see:

"TP-LINK AX5400 - NO INTERNET CONNECTION - Something's wrong with the hardware connection".

I've rebooted this device 3 times now, including pulling power and letting it sit that way for 10 minutes before powering back up. I've done the same with the cable modem. I then swapped ethernet cables to a known-good cable. I'm on the latest firmware.

Still have the orange light on the WAN port, and the same error message.

What can I do next? I need the internet for remote work and for my kid to do school.

Thanks!

The next thing I would try is a factory reset.

Thanks; I'll give that a try this evening. After saving the config first of course!

I did a factory reset,  and still have an orange light on the Wan port. :-(

Also, now there is no way to connect to the router successfully. I try the tether app; connect to the new wifi network, use the pw from the bottom of the device, the teather app cannot find any device.

Update: I got connected by giving my pc a static IP od 192.168.0.50, gw and dns set to 192.168.0.1. Skipped setup and restored from backup. Rebooted...still orange light/no internet.

I unplugged the ethernet cable from the wan port, and plugged it directly into my PC NIC. I set my NIC to DHCP, and it picked up an IP from the cable modem and got online.

I then unplugged that cable from my PC and plugged it back into the WAN port on the ax73, and the light for the port turned orange, never went green, and there's no internet on the ax73. I rebooted the ax73, still orange.

I've started a warranty claim for the ax73, but if anybody here as experienced this and has fixed it some other way, please let me know!

@GeekHelp101 I am also experiencing this. Meantime, I have plugged the cable to the empty LAN ports and everyone is having back their WiFi connection. It looks like an update to the Firmware causing this. My routers have been running fine this 2 years without issue. Just happened yesterday 23-March-2024.

Sounds like you lost the wan ip. Power of both the modem and router and unplug them both for 5-10 min. Plug in the modem, power on, and wait for it to initialize, then plug in the router, power it up. You should now be working.
