instability with Deco Firmware 1.4.1
Deco X55 V1.6 Unstable since upgrade to Firmware version 1.4.1 2 days ago.
1) I'm getting message in app that says "Client list failed to load. Please reboot main Deco."
2) After reboot client list is scrambled with devices having the wrong descriptors for several minutes
3) Sometimes when I start the Deco app it says that my 2 satellite Decos with ethernet backhaul are offline but they have green lights.
4) Sometimes when streaming video over ethernet or wireless the play back is choppy.
5) NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS EXISTED BEFORE THE UPGRADE TO 1.4.1. EVERYTHING WORKED PERFECTLY.
Is there any help for this?
Thanks
12/17/23 - This morning I found the entire network down. Devices couldn't authenticate, Main Deco couldn't find the 2 satellites even though they are ethernet backhaul.
After the 3rd power cycle the network finally came back up.
Is there anyone out there that can help?

@David-TP I have similar issues. First my 3 unit set lost ethernet connection with satellites. I disassembled it and assemle again. Now it shows wired connection with satellite, but no clients connected to them. All clients (around15) on main unit. Deco app shows something strange, like wired connection to my phone and 2.4 MHz connection to my computer, which provide >200 Mbps on internet speed test. It looks like system still work some way but Deco app can't reflect what is going on.
App regularly lost connection with network and stack if I try to change clients connection preferences.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.
Could you please refer to this link to submit the Deco APP log:
"App regularly lost connection with network and stack if I try to change clients connection preferences", Would it report any error message, such as "we could't find Deco"?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP for debugging purposes at your side : It might be interesting to say that I have Absolutely no problems with firmware 1.4.1 but on - DECO X50 EU v1.0 -
My setup is : Modem -> Main Deco -> Switch (unmanaged) -> 3 Other Deco's (all X50).
so, 1.4.1 seems to work with X50 but seems to cause some issues with X55 (?)

Hi,
yes, it reports "we could't find Deco" even if clients still work properly. After app restores connection I could not change connection preferences. It just shows running circle.
At moment I write it app works properly, clients evenly distributed by units. I let you know if it happens again.
Regards
Nikolay

I don't know. I just have problems during a week after update. Not sure they directly depend on update.

I have the same instability issue since the upgrade to the latest 1.4.1 firmware.
I have 30+ wifi clients, on the previous version had no issue with none.
I run in three x50 in AP mode, all ethernet connected.
X50(1.0) Current firmware: 1.4.1 Build 20231122 Rel. 40485
Tried the following firmwares, all failed to downgrade using the uboot method:
- X50 1.0_en_1.3.1 Build 20230824 Rel. 74320_US_EU_CA_JP_up.bin
- X50v1_en_1.3.0 Build 20230719 Rel. 45755_US_EU_JP_CA_up.bin
- X50 1.0_en_1.2.7 Build 20230620 Rel. 31797_US_EU_CA_JP_up.bin
The problem seems to affect only with the 2.4 band.
I have a lot of Tasmota and Shelly devices (ESP based).
Not even my even my 6 Tapo C210 cameras work properly with this firmware version.
During the weekend I tried all:
- Disable Roaming
- Disable Beamforming
- Delete the network + Factory reset all AP
- Replacing all the cables to the Access Points.
- Reflashed again 1.4.1 (this is the ONLY firmware it allows to be flashed now)
I had to redeploy my older AP points.
The ONLY way to have SOME stability is to have ONLY ONE x50 connected and powered on.
Nevertheless the issue are the following:
- Difficulty to connect to the network
- Once connected very high latency times (even for devices within 1m of the AP)
- Ping shows random packet losses (more than 50%)
The product is completely faulty.
How can I trigger the warranty for it ?
How can I revert back to an older firmware ?
Otherwise I would like to RMA the product as the 1.4.1 firmware has broken it's functionality.

I had exactly the same problem and I discovered what was causing it.
I had 4 Decos X50 connected via ethernet backhaul which were working well before the upgrade. After the update things fell apart and I nearly lost my mind trying to solve it.
I discovered that one of the satellite units was a different version to the other three. It was that unit causing the issue because it was running different firmware and causing a conflict. The app was going nuts. I removed that Deco unit leaving the three running the update, rebooted and so far all is well......fingers crossed!
This may not solve your particular problem but it may help someone.

All 3 of mine were at the same firmware level (1.4.1), and yet my network was hobbled. I ended up getting an RMA and replaced the units with ones at a lower firmware level (1.10). 1 of the 3 sent to me was at a lower firmware level from the other two, so I upgraded that one to equal the other two but all three are below 1.4.1 now and working well again, thankfully.
I had to put in a call to my ISP at one point because I wasn't getting a connection, but it was due to IP table overflow which when cleared out fixed things. I don't know if it was my switching units multiple times to Main in an effort to debug the problem, or if the problem lies with the faulty firmware overrunning the table itself. I will just be very careful about upgrading firmware in the future.

You guys were onto something indeed.
I only tried reflashing 1.4.1 on my main x50 using the uboot method.
The UI reported all three units at version 1.4.1, so I nevert tried to flash any other AP.
I forced flashed 1.4.1 into all of them, one by one and since I've done that the 2.4 band seems usable again.

@David-TP Any update on this matter I have been very busy at work and systems locks up goes off line comes back very unstable.
I had put UPS's on the units but now still issues honestly ready to just try another brand and move on but did like the system before this version.
Thanks
