Model: Archer AX21
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 Build 20230219 rel.69802(5553)

Hello and good morning!

I've been recently having some issues with my new Archer AX21 router.

With my apartment's wifi system, my landlord provides service through his own modem and (im assuming) router, which neither do I have access too.

The Wifi works just fine for the most part, using google DNS 8.8.8.8 and fiddling with the computer-side Wifi systems. However, no matter if I'm connected via ethernet or wireless, on my phone and labtop, the wifi will just randomly disconnect for a split second then turn back on. It doesn't sound like much but its still enough to grind web browsing, gaming, etc to halt.

Checking my Router's logs, I constantly see

2023-09-20 03:35:37 UPnP INFO [8679] Service start

2023-09-20 03:35:36 UPnP INFO [8679] Service stop

2023-09-20 03:09:32 UPnP INFO [15366] Service start

2023-09-20 03:09:31 UPnP INFO [15366] Service stop

Would disabling the UPnP help with this issue? any and all help is appreciated, thank you!

I assume you have an ethernet connection to your router. I would first bypass the router and connect the pc direct and see if you do have a stable connection as it does not sound like a  normal router issue. If you have anything connected to the usb port, try without it as it may be a too large of a power drain. Same with the ethernet ports. Be sure you are using the power adapter that came with the router. Not sure why you need UPnP on, maybe for some other devices. I found that power cycle the router after any changes is a good habit.

  @ArcherC8

-With the router unplugged and the computer directly wired to the ethernet port on the wall, the wifi seems to be alot stabler, I only had one case of losing internet throughout a half an hour gaming session compared to before with the router where it would loose contact nearly every 5-10 minutes.

-USB ports are all disconnected from devices and the problem still occurs.

-turning off UPnP was a suggestion made to help prevent this issue, it doesnt seem to help.

I suspect your internet connection since it failed with pc as the pc may be for forgiving than the router. Do check and try different ethernet cables and do look at the connections for posible bent pins. Move the cables while testing to see if it fails.

Been trying to reply but every reply says i have an external link in it...try doing a hard reset, once you are up and running then see if you wifi channels are causing the interference (i would turn off the 2ghz)  and change to 1.1.1.1 DNS but to each is own.  Still have trouble i have a lot more suggestionts but god forbid Tp-Link let me help you.

i would also limit your wifi power and also the width and those interfere with others and too much is just too much.  5ghz has fewer channels to interfere with each other so start with that after the hard reset of the router
