Cannot Connect to Admin Page for Archer C7 (V2) on MacBook Air M1 Running macOS 12.6.7 (Monterey)
Hello! I have a MacBook Air M1 running macOS 12.6.8 (Monterey) with Safari V16.6 and a TP-Link Archer C7 (V2) router. I recently did a factory reset of my router. However, when I tried to access the router's settings I could not connect. A few key points:
- The router's firmware is up to date
- The MacBook Air is able to connect to the Archer's network and can send/receive data via that network
- I tried using 192.168.0.1
- I tried using tplinkwifi.net
- I tried using tplinklogin.net
- I tried using 192.168.1.1 (in this case the address worked, but it took me to my main router)
- I tried 192.168.0.254
- I tried a hardwired connection (using an ethernet-to-USB C adapter) (to be clear, I tested the adapter and it works when connected to other routers)
- I tried accessing the settings wirelessly
- I have cleared the cache in Safari
- I have tried other browsers
- I have restarted my computer
- I reset the router to factory defaults after loading the new firmware (and did a fresh set up of settings--I did not reload them from a backup)
- I have turned off content blockers, anti-malware/ant-virus software, and do not have a VPN running
One more key point: I was able to access the settings using my 2009 13" MacBook Pro running OS X 10.11 (El Capitan). Considering the age of that computer, though, I do not want to have to rely on it to access this router's settings page.
With all of that in mind, does anyone have any idea what might be going on here?
Thanks!
