Model: Deco W3600
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20230612 Rel. 57820

I need to keep calling Hulu Live in order to reset my home location because the T-Mobile internet modem is wireless and it doesn't have a fixed IP address. As a resullt, the zip code of the IP address is reporting back to Hulu that "I am not a home" because it cannot lock down on a fixed IP address on the T-Mobile wireless modem. This is a common problem which both T-Mobile and Hulu have both acknowledged to me. Living outside of the city limits makes 5G T-Mobile Internet the best option for us.

Is there a means to place something with an identified IP address between the T-Mobile modem and my Deco W3600 in order for Hulu to bypass the modem and lock on to the in-between device. I would rather not use the AP mode in the Deco as that removes a lot of the safety features on my internet. Thanks

  @EL_Raiderman,

Unfortunately, in terms of formal fixes, there really is no solution until T-Mobile/Hulu provides a fix for the behavior or creates a static address for your device.. The modem is cycling IP addresses, and all of the data from your network and router simply flows from a different IP address at times. I also have a feeling that using the Decos in AP mode will not fix the behavior as the Modem will still be constantly changing addresses.

Your best bet would be to setup a VPN connection on your router, or use a VPN service. Even if your IP is changed on the modem, all of your traffic will first flow to the VPN server's IP and this is the address that is seen by Hulu and such. There are a few protections that the streaming platforms have added, so you may need to take extra steps depending on your VPN - such as choosing a location that is close to your geographic locations.

Many services now allow you to select what apps should use the VPN connection, so you may be able to configure the TV to always use the VPN for the Hulu App traffic.
