Hey All,

All variable bandwidth connections like 4G/5G and Starlink tend to suffer from tremendous bufferbloat. Traditional Smart Queue Management (SQM) isn't a great solution they would need to set a static max bandwidth way below the maximum bandwidth because of the variable nature of the connection.

Nowadays there's an active and well-functioning OpenWRT project called cake-autorate that automatically adjusts CAKE SQM bandwidth settings based on traffic load and one-way-delay or round-trip-time measurements.

Would it be possible to integrate cake-autorate into the Deco firmware so LTE and Starlink users can enjoy better gaining and video calling experiences?

Cheers,

Rob
