Hello, I am having issues with multiple devices connecting to my home network.  I have Sparklight's Freedom Connect Gig service, a NETGEAR CM1000 gigabit modem, and a Deco AXE5300 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6E System.  Deco claims that up to 200 devices can connect, but I can monitor what is connected through the app, and it maxes out between 25-30 devices.  Some devices, like my iMac and AppleTV, are always connecte (they use ethernet), and my iPhone almost always connects, even though to does not stay at the house.  Other devices, like my work laptop and my kids' Chromebooks, have a tough time connecting reliably.  Usually, I can clear the offline devices using the app or reset the modem to fix things, but I am having to do this daily, and it is frustrating.  I changed the dynamic IP range, and this did not solve it.  Does anyone have other suggestions?

  @Johnny_Luau,

Are the devices you seeing disconnected from the network trying to connect or send traffic through the network?

Is the behavior limited to what you are seeing on the client list, or are you also having problems getting the devices to connect while you are using them?

Are there specific devices you are seeing disconnect, or does it happen to ANY of your wireless devices on your network?

Many devices will "sleep" their wireless connections if they are not in use, so this may play a part. You may also look to see if the problematic devices have any sort of tracker blocking or private addressing features - they may be reconnecting, just showing as a different device and if names are assigned to the MAC or IP address, a conflict may be happening.

You may also try checking the WebUI for the client list to see if there are any differences or delays when using the app compared to the direct connection; its unlikely but worth a try.

I would recommend turning off the following settings for the problematic devices to see if one of these features is the potential cause.

BeamForming, FastRoaming, and lastly, Mesh Technology

These are some of the newest additions to the Wi-Fi protocol and may cause compatibility issues with devices that are not properly configured to support/deal with the function.
