Model: Deco
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I just set up my Deco X2 mesh with 3 units.  When I set up the one connected to the modem, I was able to label it with a location.  When I set up the other 2 units, they connected automatically.  In the app, they only show as Deco_A06C and Deco_D100, essentially a shorthand for the MAC.  I'd like to label these with their locations, so I can manage them more easily.  I can't find a way to do that in the Deco App on my phone.

Any help?

The setting isn't in one of the normal menus in the upper right. Instead, when looking at a specific node on the network, an edit symbol should appear next to the name of the node.

You can follow the instructions in this FAQ to see where the setting can be found.

How to Change the Device Name of Deco

The reason the other two connected automatically is simply because all Decos bought as a pack have the opportunity to automatically configure themselves for a short period after the initial network is set up.

@Riley_S Thanks.  That was just what I needed to find the way to set it.  In one case, I changed the custom location name from the defaulted MAC nickname to one that made sense for me.
