Hardware Version:

Firmware Version: 3.15.1

The documentation that came with my TP-1750 says the PSK password and the PIN can be the same. It does not say they must be the same. I have set them to the same value and I can connect to the internet via wireless. If I set the PSK password to something other than the PIN, I cannot set up the router. What is the difference between these to parameters and why do they have to be the same in my particular situation?

A wireless password and Pin as its sometimes called are the same thing. What ever you set your wireless password to when you setup the router is what you would use to allow clients to connect to the network.
