Model: TL-WN722N
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2

Hi everyone,

As written in the subject, do you have any suggestion what should I do?

Here is my case;

I'm using 175 Mbps internet connection speed from ISP and using Windows 10 PC with TP-Link TL-WN722N USB Wifi Adapter, and a Archer C58HP router. If use the 802.11n mode from the TL-WN722N, I only got around 1 or 2 Mbps upload speed (internet and also WLAN transfer).

If I changed to 802.11g mode from the TL-WN722N, I can get around 15 Mbps upload speed. And currently I have to stay in this mode otherwise it will take too long for sync my OneDrive.

The reason I change the mode from TL-WN722N is because my Android smartphone did not have this issue, it can get full benefit from 802.11n mode. I can't find any driver update from the TL-WN722N and no firmware update from Archer C58HP.

I've test reboot my PC using Ubuntu Live USB drive and test the upload performance, and it's normal / same as the android device.

Is this issue with the Windows or with the TL-WN722N driver?

Thank you

Best regards

  @jonet_wicaksana

Hi, did the mix mode on TL-WN722N get the same lower upload speed as 802.11n?

Have you tried to test TL-WN772N with another windows computer?

If possible, please also install the following driver to see whether it helped or not:

Best regards.

Case closed

The issue was from the Archer C58HP, I borrow other router and it suddenly perform so well for upload and so does the download. Look like I need to replace the Archer 58HP since they warranty is expired.

  @jonet_wicaksana
Check the power settings of your Windows 10 PC and make sure it is set to "High Performance" to ensure optimal performance of the adapter. Additionally, try adjusting the wireless mode settings on your router to see if it improves the upload speed. If these steps don't resolve the issue, you may consider reaching out to the support channels of TP-Link or Microsoft for further assistance and troubleshooting guidance.

Ensure that you have the latest version of the TL-WN722N driver installed on your computer. Visit the official website of the manufacturer or the TP-Link support page to download and install any available driver updates specific to your operating system.

During peak usage times, internet traffic can increase, resulting in slower speeds. Test your upload speed during different times of the day to see if there's a pattern. If you consistently experience slow upload speeds, contact your ISP to investigate and resolve any congestion issues. Ensure that TodayPatches all cables and connections are secure and functioning properly. Faulty or damaged cables, routers, or modems can impact upload speeds.
