Features Added
Please Be Aware that Some Features Are Model Dependent, or Unavailable in Specific Network Configurations.
- Added Reboot Schedule Each Day/Week Under
- Deco App > More > Reboot Schedule
- Added Support for Customizing Satellite Deco Signal Source Under
- Deco App > Internet > Select the Satellite Deco > Signal Source
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported on Deco with firmware 1.6.0 installed.
- Added support for customizing Client’s Connection Preferences under
- Deco App > CLIENTS > Select the client > Click the gear icon on the right-up corner > Connection Preference.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported in Mesh networks consisting of ALL Deco's with firmware 1.6.0 installed.
- Connection Preferences can only be configured while a client is connected to the host network.
- Added No-IP and DynDNS to the DDNS settings under
- Deco App > More > Advanced > DDNS.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco.
- No-IP and DynDNS are the two commonly used dynamic DNS providers and after installing firmware 1.6.0, you can choose to set up a No-IP or DynDNS domain name for your Deco in addition to TP-Link DDNS.
- Added Smart DHCP on/off switch under Access Point mode.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with firmware 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco.
- Smart DHCP is enabled by default. When the Smart DHCP function is enabled, Deco will periodically check whether the DHCP Server in the LAN is working properly, and when it stops working, Deco will take the initiative to assign IP addresses to the devices in the LAN.
- Added a prompt when the Ethernet link rate goes down to 100Mbps.
- Note: Deco M5 supports a maximum link speed of 1000Mbps, but due to the quality of the Ethernet cable, the link speed of the connected device, the flow control, power-saving settings, etc., the link speed can sometimes drop to 100Mbps or even 10Mbps. This can affect your download and upload speed if your bandwidth is more than 100Mbps. After installing firmware 1.6.0, you will receive a prompt in Deco App when the Ethernet link speed is not 1000Mbps.
- Added schedule and bandwidth limit to guest network under Deco App > More > Wi-Fi > Guest Network.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with the firmware 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco
- When configuring Deco for the first time, you can choose to establish an IPv6 connection directly.
Please Note:
- Some of the Listed Firmware has not been officially released and may not be detected as an available firmware update for your Deco. If so, you may manually update the firmware through Deco’s WebUI.
- These features are not limited exclusively to the 1.6.0 Firmware. If your firmware does not show the firmware version as 1.6.0, do not worry, as the features added are the same.
- Firmware Downgrades from These Versions need to be done via the Firmware Recovery Process.
- The Current Network Configuration Will Not be Lost After Installing the Firmware
- Some Features May Not be Available When the Deco is Operating in Access Point Mode.

@Richardj186 how were you able to get the latest non-beta software? what version is that? The engineer who sent me the link is surprised that the over-the-air update he sent me is not available through the app yet. He said it should've been a long time ago v1.1.1 for X200. Any idea @Riley_S ?

As far as I am aware, the latest firmware for the XE200 was given on March 23,2023 as 1.0.2 - I have not seen any mention of a v1.1.1 update. The updates sent via the app will also line up with the firmware posted to your products support page, which shows this as the most recent. I will keep an eye out for anything, but it could just be that the version was changed to be a smaller update after it was developed.

@edumorlom I only had the one released in March, the 1.0.2 version. That's what I flashed on my two XE200's to get them working again. The tech I spoke to was also surprised there wasn't a newer version available since v1.0.2 doesn't include anything from the beta.

Just an FYI, firmware XE200(US)_V1.6_1.1.1 Buld 20230220 Final Release is now available for the XE200 1.0 and 1.6. No more betas available. If your Deco's don't see it, you can download it from the XE200 download page https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-xe200/ and install it manually by logging into the Deco's webUI at 192.168.68.1.

@Riley_S Any news about the firmware for the deco x50 v1.2? I bought it in Brazil and it says US VERSION, however is the us site there's only V1.0 and V1.6, no V1.2. Should I try one of these versions?

I have the Deco X50 model with hardware version 1.2 - the firmware version is 1.0.1 Build 20221103
Today I tried to install the firmware present at this link:
https://www.tp-link.com/it/support/download/deco-x50/v1/#Firmware
the installation fails because they are not recognized as the latest firmware.
I don't understand why it won't let me update the firmware
I tried to install all 3 of those listed on the page:
Deco X50(EU)_V1_1.2.5 Build 20230511
Deco X50(EU)_V1_1.2.2 Build 20230301
Deco X50(EU)_V1_1.2.0 Build 20230113
and they all give the same error

@tplink please add firmware support for Deco x50 v1.2
I find it lackluster that v1 is getting support regularly, but the v1.2/v2/v3 models are not seeing the light of day.
I still have a nearly 2 week consumer return window left here in the Netherlands and I'm on the verge of returning it. I like the mesh system a lot but I need more flexibility and control over my network. I really liked the ease of setup and was like, ok what gives. But due to lacking support for this particular model and seemingly accross many other mid-tier devices (currently in a weird position, relationwise so I needed something cheap and fast. Back to topic). I am on the verge of either comparing and modifying the firmware myself, but I wish not to void warranty of a device I might potentially use for a longer time but in this state and only reading messages you're seemingly working on it. Is making me lose faith in TP link as a whole and gives me the feeling that there is only one developer per category or something (From experience I know it's not true, but yeah I also know from experience how customers behave and in this case I am a customer).

Deco x50 v1.2 is always V1.
the major versions are shown on the site.
Intermediate releases are always part of major releases.
V1 includes V1, V1.1, V1.2, etc...
if you download the firmware and read the file you will find this explanation.
the problem is that the firmware does not install, even if you try to do it manually.
