Features Added
Please Be Aware that Some Features Are Model Dependent, or Unavailable in Specific Network Configurations.
- Added Reboot Schedule Each Day/Week Under
- Deco App > More > Reboot Schedule
- Added Support for Customizing Satellite Deco Signal Source Under
- Deco App > Internet > Select the Satellite Deco > Signal Source
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported on Deco with firmware 1.6.0 installed.
- Added support for customizing Client’s Connection Preferences under
- Deco App > CLIENTS > Select the client > Click the gear icon on the right-up corner > Connection Preference.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported in Mesh networks consisting of ALL Deco's with firmware 1.6.0 installed.
- Connection Preferences can only be configured while a client is connected to the host network.
- Added No-IP and DynDNS to the DDNS settings under
- Deco App > More > Advanced > DDNS.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco.
- No-IP and DynDNS are the two commonly used dynamic DNS providers and after installing firmware 1.6.0, you can choose to set up a No-IP or DynDNS domain name for your Deco in addition to TP-Link DDNS.
- Added Smart DHCP on/off switch under Access Point mode.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with firmware 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco.
- Smart DHCP is enabled by default. When the Smart DHCP function is enabled, Deco will periodically check whether the DHCP Server in the LAN is working properly, and when it stops working, Deco will take the initiative to assign IP addresses to the devices in the LAN.
- Added a prompt when the Ethernet link rate goes down to 100Mbps.
- Note: Deco M5 supports a maximum link speed of 1000Mbps, but due to the quality of the Ethernet cable, the link speed of the connected device, the flow control, power-saving settings, etc., the link speed can sometimes drop to 100Mbps or even 10Mbps. This can affect your download and upload speed if your bandwidth is more than 100Mbps. After installing firmware 1.6.0, you will receive a prompt in Deco App when the Ethernet link speed is not 1000Mbps.
- Added schedule and bandwidth limit to guest network under Deco App > More > Wi-Fi > Guest Network.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with the firmware 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco
- When configuring Deco for the first time, you can choose to establish an IPv6 connection directly.
Please Note:
- Some of the Listed Firmware has not been officially released and may not be detected as an available firmware update for your Deco. If so, you may manually update the firmware through Deco’s WebUI.
- These features are not limited exclusively to the 1.6.0 Firmware. If your firmware does not show the firmware version as 1.6.0, do not worry, as the features added are the same.
- Firmware Downgrades from These Versions need to be done via the Firmware Recovery Process.
- The Current Network Configuration Will Not be Lost After Installing the Firmware
- Some Features May Not be Available When the Deco is Operating in Access Point Mode.

@Riley_S Will the Deco X55 V1 ever get the 1.6 firmware or is it limited to 1.2 forever?
Previous announcements seemed to suggest that Deco X55 would be able to implement a separate IOT network but it is not included in the latest 1.2 firmware.

There may be a reason that some of the features were released under the guise of 1.2 rather than 1.6. We haven't heard any plans to not bring the features to specific models, and as far as we know, the features are being released as they are developed for models. After the firmware releases for these features begins to slow, our team will be able to start looking into specific models and asking around for potential release dates of features. As it stands, new firmware is being released every week to more deco models, making it difficult to seek information regarding one model.
There is the possibility of a version not getting all of the features if the unit is not powerful enough to support the feature, such as not having enough internal antennas to support the guest, main, and IoT networks simultaneously. Unfortunately, the only way to know what features the models are receiving is to check for updates and read the patch notes. The X55 is a pretty common model and it will no doubt be one of the first models that we will ask for if it doesn't receive a feature.

I would recommend checking your regional site for both updates and available patch notes. I would assume that your device will receive the update as it rolls out, but it may be different from region to region. We only have information regarding models released in the United States.

I understand, here in Brazil, versions V2 and V3 of the devices were heavily sold, and now version 4 is entering the market. All units sold in Brazil are American, as I say this because the unit comes with a service label from the United States of America. I believe that if there is an update to version 2, it will work perfectly on these devices.

lol, if they are labeled as being US models, then they would most likely follow our updates; as long as they were released in the US also. The features in the firmware are still in their early testing phase and features may be added or removed as it is developed for more models. For now, all we can do is keep an eye on the patch notes for the devices to see if an update is made available for a compatible hardware version.

@edumorlom I'm also having the same issue. XE200 satellite has green light but it shows disconnected in the app and web UI; using the latest version of the Deco app for iPhone. Do you still have that updated beta?
