Features Added
Please Be Aware that Some Features Are Model Dependent, or Unavailable in Specific Network Configurations.
- Added Reboot Schedule Each Day/Week Under
- Deco App > More > Reboot Schedule
- Added Support for Customizing Satellite Deco Signal Source Under
- Deco App > Internet > Select the Satellite Deco > Signal Source
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported on Deco with firmware 1.6.0 installed.
- Added support for customizing Client’s Connection Preferences under
- Deco App > CLIENTS > Select the client > Click the gear icon on the right-up corner > Connection Preference.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported in Mesh networks consisting of ALL Deco's with firmware 1.6.0 installed.
- Connection Preferences can only be configured while a client is connected to the host network.
- Added No-IP and DynDNS to the DDNS settings under
- Deco App > More > Advanced > DDNS.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco.
- No-IP and DynDNS are the two commonly used dynamic DNS providers and after installing firmware 1.6.0, you can choose to set up a No-IP or DynDNS domain name for your Deco in addition to TP-Link DDNS.
- Added Smart DHCP on/off switch under Access Point mode.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with firmware 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco.
- Smart DHCP is enabled by default. When the Smart DHCP function is enabled, Deco will periodically check whether the DHCP Server in the LAN is working properly, and when it stops working, Deco will take the initiative to assign IP addresses to the devices in the LAN.
- Added a prompt when the Ethernet link rate goes down to 100Mbps.
- Note: Deco M5 supports a maximum link speed of 1000Mbps, but due to the quality of the Ethernet cable, the link speed of the connected device, the flow control, power-saving settings, etc., the link speed can sometimes drop to 100Mbps or even 10Mbps. This can affect your download and upload speed if your bandwidth is more than 100Mbps. After installing firmware 1.6.0, you will receive a prompt in Deco App when the Ethernet link speed is not 1000Mbps.
- Added schedule and bandwidth limit to guest network under Deco App > More > Wi-Fi > Guest Network.
- Note: This feature is ONLY supported when the Deco with the firmware 1.6.0 installed is set as the Main Deco
- When configuring Deco for the first time, you can choose to establish an IPv6 connection directly.
Please Note:
- Some of the Listed Firmware has not been officially released and may not be detected as an available firmware update for your Deco. If so, you may manually update the firmware through Deco’s WebUI.
- These features are not limited exclusively to the 1.6.0 Firmware. If your firmware does not show the firmware version as 1.6.0, do not worry, as the features added are the same.
- Firmware Downgrades from These Versions need to be done via the Firmware Recovery Process.
- The Current Network Configuration Will Not be Lost After Installing the Firmware
- Some Features May Not be Available When the Deco is Operating in Access Point Mode.

@Riley_S My app is up-to-date. The decos are working and if i wire through Ethernet they work. They appear offline in deco app and web ui.
I have tried to enter recovery mode but it goes from green light to solid red light (which means there was an issue).
I have logged out and logged in and still no luck. This is a firmware issue.

Updating my M5's now.........went smooth without any issue.
I have quite a few customers with P9 setups. Please do not forget about this model (has not received an update/new features in a long time)!

@Riley_S It looks like we aren't getting feature parity for the XE5300 sold at Costco. Does it use hardware that is so far behind the rest of the Deco line that it can't support the new firmware features or are they coming soon to the XE5300? The new No-IP is very important to me. The last feature I'm really missing is router-based VPN allowing me to securely connect to my home network when remote. These two items would make me a very happy customer.

While we do not know what features/firmware will come to what decos, the firmware download page does list that there was new firmware provided in either December, indicating that the model is still being actively developed. The decos listed above are not the only systems to receive the firmware, they are just the most recent releases being tested. Lastly, the XE5300 should also already have some of the features mentioned above, such as signal source selection; as it is listed as an applicable model in the FAQ for the topic; so make sure you are keeping an eye out for news/updates to your system.

As an FYI, the X50 was not released in the US, so you may be actually looking for our global forum: https://community.tp-link.com/en
When It comes to the beta firmware provided on the forums and support channels, it is recommended that you do not use the firmware unless your model specifically matches the model version listed. At release, much of our firmware is cross-compatible with similar version numbers, but this cannot be guaranteed when it comes to the firmware released here.
It is best to wait for an updated version through the official update branch.
If you feel like doing a little problem-solving, here is the general rule of thumb for matching hardware versions:
(Normally Vx.0=Vx.6/Vx.8 (eg:V1.0=V1.6/V1.8); Vx.x0=Vx.x6/Vx.x8 (eg:V1.20=V1.26/V1.28)

@edumorlom I am seeing the exact same issues on my XE200 devices, where the main EX200 is fine, but the satellite is green but not allowing any wireless connections. Have you found a fix for this, or did you need to revert to the previous firmware version?
