Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Archer AX11000(US)_V1_210719

Firmware Ver: 1.2.3 Build 20210719 rel. 14861

Hardware Ver: Archer AX11000 v1.0 (according to the software) but the label on the bottom of the device says v1.6

Having trouble getting the AX1100 to work with the Gen 2 Starlink. I do have the Ethernet adapter (required with gen 2). Looking through previous post with the AX1100 router and Starlink (not sure if some were referring to Gen 1 or Gen 2) some people said to set up the AX11000 with a static settings:

Network Destination: 192.168.100.0

Sub Net: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.100.1

Interface: WAN

However, when I try this the router says "invalid Subnet Mask and LAN IP address"

Can't find much more (probably not looking in the right places....but, the only other thing I see is people are saying they plugged theirs in and and had no issues so I'm a bit stumped..

Yes I did put the Starlink router into By-Pass mode when connecting the AX1100. I also know the issue isn't with the Ethernet adapter because I had a small switch running on it with the Starlink router before trying to get the AX11000 working. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.

  @Frosty619 I am very interested in a response as I have an AX6000 router and have been unable to get it to access our Starlink that we just set-up.

Hello @Frosty619

Can I ask some questions before providing suggestions?

1. Is the network layout as follows?

Starlink Gen 2 router (Bypass mode) --- the Ethernet adapter --- WAN of AX11000? Were you choosing Static IP on the AX11000 WAN? If this doesn't work, I would suggest changing it to Dynamic IP for a try, then check if AX11000 can get a correct WAN IP address from the Starlink router.

2. If you connect the cable from the Ethernet adapter directly to a computer, will it connect to the internet automatically?

Hello @dlibby, are you in the same situation with Frosty619? If yes, please also try my suggestions to him.

  @Kevin_Z

Thanks for helping.

Question #1: You are correct. Starlink router in bypass mode > Ethernet Adapter > WAN port on the AX1100. I tried Dynamic when I first installed the AX1100. When the AX1100 didn't see the internet, that is when I tried the static IP info that I had found online. However, the AX1100 wont let me have a static IP of 192.168.100.0, and if you try 192.168.100.1 then I have a gateway issue with the same IP (according to what people were saying to input on the static settings online. I also tried a couple of different Cat5 cables to make sure I didnt have a bad cable.

Question #2: Yes. I can can plug my laptop into the ether new adapter directly and access the internet.

@Frosty619

When you connect the AX11000 to the Ethernet adapter, what is the Internet Status on its web GUI? You can login to its web management page, choose Dynamic IP, then save and reboot the router, and show us the status of the Internet port. Does it display Unplugged?

If it is not Unplugged, please kindly save and send us the system log on the AX11000 via email, we will check that further. You can email support.forum@tp-link.com with the subject of "[Forum ID 552710] Starlink Gen 2 and Archer AX1100 cant get it to work".

Re:Starlink Gen 2 and Archer AX1100 cant get it to work

  @Frosty619 I just bought an AX11000 a few hours ago and was dismayed to find that it refused to connect to my Starlink Gen 2.  I finally got it to work by manually forcing WAN port (Internet Port Negotiation Speed Setting) to 100mbps full duplex.  When I did this it connected instantly.  The problem with this "solution," however, is that it limits my connection to 100mbps and Starlink is capable of much more than that.  I tried manually setting the speed to 1000 or 2500 but neither would connect.

I just so happened to have a spare un-used gigabit switch in my network closet so just for fun I connected both the AX1100 and the Starlink LAN adapter to the switch and they both happily auto negotiated to 1000mbps and everything works just fine.  To me this is a kludge rather than a fix, but it will work until such time as I can find a better solution.

I am inclined to believe that the issue lies with the chipset in the AX11000 as I have connected numerous devices to the Starlink LAN adapter and none of them have had any problems negotiating properly.  It's extremely disappointing to spend several hundred dollars on something only to have it not be able to perform the most fundamental of tasks.  After I got the system online I did update the firmware.  This MIGHT have fixed it, and I will test it at some point, but tonight I'm tired of mucking with it.
