Have you ever thought Deco would support PoE and mounting one day? What will it be like, and how will it be installed?

Note: If you are not familiar with PoE, it is recommended that you read the following brief introduction about PoE before filling out the questionnaire,

FAQ:

Q1: What is PoE?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology that allows network switches to transmit both power and data through an Ethernet cable simultaneously.

Q2: How do PoE switches and PoE adapters work?

A PoE switch has the Power over Ethernet functionality built into it. This means you can power devices using network cables. A PoE switch provides power that can be used to run other devices via the Ethernet cabling.

A PoE adapter can be used if you don’t have a PoE switch. It can plug into a PoE Powered-Device and deliver power while the PoE Powered-Device also receives data from the switch.

Hi

Is there anyway to provide power to DECO by external device using same soure of power through LAN. As in three floors in lebanon, I have UPS system only in third floor and I need to provide continues power to first floor DECOX60 routers in ground floor.

Note: I have 9 DECO X60

6 V2 and 3 V3

also TWO MW3 extenders.

can you help in power sourcing Ideas with DECO X60 other than POE Ideas.

  @ibr007_decox60,

When it comes to decos that do not have specialized features for power, such as powerline or PoE, the only option for powering the device is to use the DC adapter that is provided with the unit.

There are other unsupported devices that are sold, such as PoE Splitters, however this is a relatively generic technology and your results may vary greatly.

One thing of concern, however; if you have all of those deco units connected, you most likely have too many connected to the network. It is recommended that there be only 10 decos in the network and a daisy chain of wirelessly connected decos should not contain more than three wireless hops. This ensures that your network will be able to efficiently communicate with all the Decos on the network.

Hi

Im a telecom Engineer and I know the channel limitation of DECOx60 as it is using one of the channels of 20 channels available for wifi 2.4 band.
however, for that Im using lan cable between them. I managed to put lay cables between some of them to reduce the relying on channels and to reduce channel reservation. DecoX60 can work perfectly with lan chaining.

however, I have the POE issue only.
