Model: TL-WA1201
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20200709 rel.66244(5553)

Hi,

I just bought a TL-WA1201 and would like to build it as a bridge, i.e. wifi to the home network and broadcast itself as a different subnet.  However, the only way it supports was an extender.  There seems to be no way to configure it as a bridge.  Can someone confirm that it can't be a bridge?  If anyone knows of a good bridge, I'd appreciate if it can be posted here.

Thanks!

Hello   @C.T.

I'm afraid the Access Point does not support bridge mode which can create a separate subnet when wirelessly connected to the router.

When work in AP mode and in multiple SSID mode, if you have a switch that supports VLAN, the AP 's different SSIDs could be in different VLANs.

How to Setup TP-Link AP’s Multi-SSID (VLAN) to Work with TP-Link Switch?

If you need another subnet,  you may consider adding more router behind the extender.
