Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 build 20210414

Hello,

In the Deco app you can go to WiFi - Mainnetwork and  disable  2.4Ghz  OR 5Ghz ,

i switched off  the 2.4Ghz  but what i saw with the app wifi analyzer  that the 3 signals are still available on 2.4Ghz, only the SSID name disappears  so the 3 signals are hidden., have no name.

I have read this here:    https://www.tp-link.com/nl/support/faq/1591/

Main Network:

Deco provides both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks with the same network name. If you want to use 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi only, you can switch off the unwanted Wi-Fi band in the Deco app.

Note: For now, some Deco models do not support this feature, and it will be added via firmware updates in the future.

Is it true it is not fully implemented  yet that the signal is switched off  but only the SSID name is hidden ?

@jaccies

Hi, thank you for the patience.

The hidden network is used to create wireless backhaul for Deco Mesh and normal network devices are not able to connect this hidden backhaul.

It is also to be addressed that there is no security risk for this hidden backhaul.

For more details, it is suggested that you could have a look at this link:
