I wish to access the usb drive connected to the TP Link router that is connected by wire to a T-Mobil gateway. On the LAN its no problem as I use the TP Link router wifi rather than the T-mobil gateway/ wifi router. However I would also like to access it remotely from the web. I have followerd the user manual carefully and it still will not work. The only thing I can figurre out is this. I use a T-Mobil gateway for my provider. The WAN address of the gateway is 172.58.19x.xxx The private address of the gateway is 192.168.xxx.xxx. It seems that I can not reach the usb drive in the TP Link router through the gateway..Can anyone tell me if its even possoble ?

I assume this is your manual, Archer A9 V6 manual and you followed the instructions on Section 1.2.

Only FTP is available, unless you use the Port 21 via a Browser.

What were trying and how?

Did you get an error? If not, what did you use to access it and what was the command.

If is 'protected' and that can cause some problems in some apps. For instance, most DLNA clients can't handle providing UID and PW and just report it could not connect.
